Our successful client within the technology industry is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. This is a field-based role to cover the South of England with the main objective of successfully managing existing clients and develop new leads and business in order to achieve and surpass the agreed sales budget. In turn the role offers an attractive salary of £35 – 40K pa plus a £5K bonus.
Key responsibilities will involve maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new clients to grow business in line with agreed targets. This will involve ensuring regular and effective client visits to maintain strong relationships, promoting the company’s brands within all markets in order to develop new business, supporting any promotional activities with customers, attending relevant industry exhibitions and conferences, providing regular feedback and monitoring sales performance.
The ideal candidate will come with experience of field sales from within the construction or built environment sectors and experience of selling to Local Authorities or utility companies would be of great benefit. You will need to be a people person, a relationship builder with outstanding communication skills across all levels and a good problem solver. We’ll be looking for good IT skills (MS office), good literacy and numeracy skills, the ability to handle tight deadlines and a motivated and professional approach with an ambition to succeed.
