Production Engineer
Location: Gloucestershire
Profile: Opportunity to join expanding Manufacturing Company in key role
Salary: On application plus benefits
Experience: Time served in either an engineering or electrical trade
ONC / C&G electrical and mechanical engineering
Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
Practical working knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, especially preventative maintenance, workplace organisation, visual management and SMED
The Production Engineer will work as part of a wider Engineering team to achieve and maintain high performance in production processes, promoting Engineering excellence and best practise and to develop and implement Engineering Management strategy
Key Tasks
*Ensure that production equipment availability is very high, and preventative maintenance implemented as appropriate
*Play key role in sourcing and selection of new production equipment
*Manage design; production / procurement; and commissioning of product specific tooling
*Manage inspection, maintenance and availability of product specific tooling
*Manage production of customer product samples
*Manage setting of production machines
*Resolve issues to optimise robustness and effectiveness of production processes, leading small project teams where appropriate
*Maintain setting and operating instructions / manuals for machines, tools and equipment
*Plan and implement production development projects in a safe, time and cost effective manner
*Ensure that all processes and controls required for engineering management systems are accurately documented and effectively and completely trained out
*Make a full contribution towards continuous improvements, as well as machine upgrades
