Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to join a flourishing e-commerce business currently the largest in their field in the UK. They are looking for a skilled UI Designer to join them on a part time basis (22.5 hours per week) to work with them in the design and shaping of unique, user-centric products and experiences. In turn, the role offers a generous salary package plus the chance to join an exciting organisation at a critical time in their growth.

What will the role involve?
Reporting to the Director of Product, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design of interfaces and customer facing websites, as well as bespoke customer emails and email campaigns. It will be your responsibility to create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows and to effectively communicate your interaction ideas and to be prepared to present and defend your design decisions.

What skills and experience are required?
We’ll be looking for candidates with at least three years of experience and proven track record of designing interfaces for customer facing websites, with a strong portfolio to show for it. You will need to have good hands-on experience of creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards and user flows. You will need to be a problem-solver and come with a positive and well organised approach, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as good communication skills. In terms of technical skills, we’ll be looking for experience of tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin, Quartz as well as an understanding of basic front-end languages such as HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript.

The company is based in Oxfordshire, is easily accessible by train and operates a flexible working environment allowing for home-based working for at least some of the time and will also consider contractors/freelancers for this role.
