Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Executive to join our highly successful client based in North Gloucestershire operating within the science and technology sector. The primary purpose of the role will be to support the Marketing and PR Manager in the organisation, scheduling and delivery of marketing campaigns, PR activities, trade press coverage and business social media publishing in order to promote and further the companies services, activities and developments.

The role will involve significant interaction with scientific and technical colleagues at all levels from across the business, as well as the other members of the Marketing and Communications team to enable the successful completion of tasks such as:
*Proactively identify and coordinate delivery of key aspects of PR activities across all relevant communications channels.
*Manage and coordinate the delivery of marketing campaigns and their content across all relevant communications channels.
*Ensure that the content of Member Funded Research (MFR) project websites is regularly checked, updated and cross-promoted through marketing campaigns, PR activities and other relevant channels.
*Organize, promote and manage registrations for their series of content marketing based industry webinars.
*Source and schedule internal communications for the news and other pages of the corporate intranet.
* Coordinate ad hoc projects and the production of advertisements to ensure they integrate into marketing campaigns, PR activities, social media activities and other relevant channels
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
*A degree (or equivalent experience) in marketing or a closely related discipline with at least 3 years’ experience (in-house or agency) in delivering marketing campaigns (ideally B2B) or a degree in a relevant technical discipline with 4-5 years’ experience in a marketing / communications environment.
*Impeccable and demonstrable organizational skills – adept at juggling multiple activities with a ‘schedule driven’ outlook and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
*Good interpersonal skills with a mature, engaging, confident, ‘friendly-but-firm’ manner – able to deal with staff at all levels within the business to encourage the delivery of content to deadline.
*Good attention to detail, with an ability to capture and organize information for reporting / depicting the progress of campaigns and ad hoc activities.
*An understanding of the range of channels available for B2B marketing, their advantages and their constraints.
*A can-do, enthusiastic, collaborative, team-oriented and friendly attitude with a strong desire to improve own skills base and find improved ways of working for the benefit of the business.
*Valid UK driving license

Ideally you would also have some experience of working in a scientific or technical company, with evidence of an interest in science and technology or/and experience of working within the food and drink industry with an understanding of the issues it faces. The ability to produce good written copy – or the aptitude, willingness and enthusiasm to work to develop this skill with the relevant support – would also be a distinct advantage.

The role is on offer for a salary of of £21’000 – £23’670 plus a number of benefits such as a pension and medial scheme, training and an on- site restaurant and parking.
