Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Gloucester
Profile: progressive role with expanding well established and friendly company
Salary: £25000 – £30500 per annum plus overtime
Hours : Mon-Fri 39 hours per week – dayshift
Education & Qualifications: Time served apprentice, ONC/HNC or equivalent
Experience: Have experience in all types of machining techniques ranging from manual to CNC machining
Will be familiar with Fanuc, Anilam, Acromatic and G-Code
Have experience using CMM, Video Cameras(training can be provided) and all conventional measuring equipment
Good knowledge of MRP systems.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for variety of shopfloor processes; ensuring smooth manufacture of new and existing parts along and high quality standards of manufacturing are delivered.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be involved in the following:-
*Write technical Manufacturing Instructions(Method)
*Allocate set and run times to Method
*Advise purchasing department of tooling required
*Estimate run times by making the necessary calculations based on material and cutting data.
*Offline Programming(One CNC)
*Design manufacturing fixtures and produce fixtures if possible.
*Able to prove new work either independently or with other team members.
*Improve operational times (assessing speeds and feeds or other processes).
*Make Method amendments when necessary.
*Have a general knowledge of common plating processes.
*Contact customers with any drawing queries
*Perform all 1st off inspections
*Be responsible for the Quality Assurance.
*Undertake all final inspections
*Carry out First Article Inspections.
*Calibrate all measuring equipment.
*Carry out corrective actions.
