A fantastic opportunity for a Support Engineer with proficient C or C++ coding skills and good knowledge of Windows server 2008 to 2016 to join our client, a world leader in embedded digital security, and their progressive Smart Services Team. The role, on offer for a salary of up to £38.5K, dependent on experience, is based at the clients’ offices in North Gloucestershire and will involve some European travel up to one trip a month.
The main purpose of the role is to support the operation of the company’s hosted Smart Services offer to customers worldwide and will involve tasks such as the deployment and installation of the services on their validation platforms, managing the installation and monitoring packages, providing level 1 support to the company’s IT deployment teams as well as level 1 functional support for the service and after-sales technical support of the Smart Services.
To apply you must come with demonstrable experience from within a customer support or customer interfacing role, with very good knowledge of the Windows environment including Windows Server 2008 to 2016 and proficient C or C++ coding skills, backed up by a relevant degree or equivalent education within a technical discipline such as IT or electronics. Ideally you will also have web services and SQL Server experience as well as Java or .NET skills. We’ll be looking for candidates with good analytical and excellent communication skills, including fluent English language skills.
